As a branding photographer, I get to work with so many incredible women who are pouring their hearts into businesses that matter. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Lucy Charlesworth, the founder of Lucy’s Ladle—a business that’s all about nourishing both body and soul through wholesome, homemade soups, broths and meals, both in her local area but also as of this year on amazing retreats across Europe!

Lucy’s brand story is deeply personal, rooted in a passion for nutrition and wellness. Every meal she creates is crafted with intention, using ingredients that are locally sourced, organic where possible, and always packed full of goodness. So when it came to her branding shoot, we wanted to capture not just the product—but the heart behind it.

Bringing Lucy’s Brand to Life

For our shoot, we kept it very simple, this is Lucy doing exactly what she does in the place she loves. Think warm tones, rustic textures, and a calm, homely feel, using the ingredients, utensils and equipment where the magic is made!

We focused on storytelling through imagery—capturing Lucy in her element: ladling soup, arranging ingredients, laughing with warmth. These photos are more than just action snaps and headshots—they’re designed to help Lucy show up authentically online, from her website to her social media to press features.

Why a Branding Shoot Matters

For small business owners like Lucy, strong personal branding isn’t a luxury—it’s a powerful tool. People connect with people. When your clients can see you and your passion, it builds trust, confidence, and connection.

Lucy now has a beautiful, cohesive set of images that showcase not only her product but also her purpose. And I couldn’t be prouder to help her step forward with confidence into the next chapter of Lucy’s Ladle.

Final Thoughts

Lucy’s Ladle is more than just a bowl of soup—it’s a symbol of comfort, nourishment, and care. Photographing Lucy was a joy, and I left our session feeling truly inspired by the love she pours into everything she does.

If you’re a heart-led business owner ready to elevate your brand with images that really represent you, I’d love to chat.

With love, Rachel xx
